Dodge Transmission Suggestion
From: Joe
Subject: BG Tranny Service
Bobby,
OK, I have been listening to you talk about BG for years, so I’ve decided on the BG tranny service on my ’94 Dodge.
- Are all BG providers qualified?
- Does filter have to be changed?
I trust you to give me the straight scoop.
Thank you, Bobby.

OK, Joe,
The answer is - yes - by all means have the transmission serviced. The question is - why have you waited so long?
Seriously, if your 1994 Dodge is “average,” it probably has over 100K miles. I recommend the BG service, but strongly suggest you change the filter as well. At Car Clinic Service, our policy calls for filter replacement with any used vehicle that has over 100K miles with no prior service (or one that has severely contaminated fluid). This filter should be changed immediately following the BG service. And yes, you'll lose 4 quarts of new fluid, but otherwise, the cleaning chemistry could leave deposits trapped in the filter. After the entire process, have the shop add BG's conditioner, BG ATC Plus, Part No. 310.
Had you changed fluid every 30K miles, the original filter could last an easy 150K miles.
And no - not all shops are the same. Click here to locate several BG shops in your area - call 'me/check 'em out/see which ones talk the talk - and know their trade.
Best,
Bobby Likis
